The Madhya Pradesh government has approved the creation of 810 new medical staff positions across five district hospitals as part of plans to increase hospital bed capacity. The decision was taken by the state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and announced by Deputy Chief Minister and Health Medical Education Minister Rajendra Shukla. In addition, the Cabinet decided to continue the scheme providing zero-interest loans to farmers through cooperative banks and approved amendments to the Re-Densification Policy 2022, ensuring 100 percent development of land allotted under the policy. Recruitment in district hospitals The Cabinet has approved increasing bed capacity and creating new posts in district hospitals of Tikamgarh, Neemuch, Singrauli, Sheopur, and Dindori. The 810 posts will include: The total annual expenditure for these new posts is estimated at Rs 39.50 crore. Bed capacity expansion in hospitals “This recruitment and bed expansion will strengthen healthcare infrastructure in these districts and ensure better services for patients,” said Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla. Amendment to the re-densification policy The Cabinet approved amendments to the Re-Densification Policy 2022, allowing 100% development of land allotted through the re-densification process. Previously, only 60 percent of funds were allocated for development work, but now projects will be executed using the full allocation. “This amendment ensures that development work in districts receiving land through re-densification will be faster and more comprehensive,” Shukla added. Continuation of zero-interest loans for farmers The government will continue providing zero-interest loans to farmers through cooperative banks, a scheme that began in 2012-13. “This scheme will support farmers financially and strengthen agricultural growth in the state,” said Shukla.
