A firecracker exploded in the mouth of an 18-year-old youth, blowing off his jaw in Jhabua district on Wednesday evening. The youth was reportedly attempting a dangerous stunt inspired by a social media trend. The incident took place in Bachhikheda village under Petlawad police station limits. According to police sources, the youth, identified as Rohit Solanki (18), son of Sanju Solanki, a resident of Temriya village, was trying to perform a stunt by lighting crackers inside his mouth. Witnesses said Rohit had successfully burst seven sutli bombs one after another, each time placing them in his mouth for dramatic effect. However, when he attempted to light the eighth bomb, it detonated prematurely with a powerful blast, causing severe injuries and blowing off his lower jaw. He was immediately rushed to Petlawad Hospital, but due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was referred to Ratlam for advanced treatment.
