‘Avoid mobiles while cooking’, Vijayvargiya’s advise to women:Minister urges men to keep household ‘Lakshmi’ always happy at Diwali event in Indore

Indore’s Old Age Home Social Welfare Complex in Pardesipura hosted a Diwali celebration this year. Many people, including Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, MLA Ramesh Mendola, and Municipal Corporation Public Works In-charge Rajendra Rathore, attended. School children, elderly residents, and specially-abled participants joined the festivities. Tree plantation and firecrackers The event began with a tree plantation drive. Firecrackers were also burst to mark the festival. Children and residents enjoyed the celebrations alongside officials. Minister Vijayvargiya takes blessings Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya took blessings from the elderly residents. Many attendees performed bhajans, and an Antakshari session was organised. The Minister addressed the crowd from the stage, highlighting the message of Diwali. Message of happiness Vijayvargiya said that one key message of Diwali is to keep the Lakshmi of the house happy. He urged everyone to maintain cleanliness and happiness at home. He added that God does not discriminate by caste, religion, or sect. God comes where there is joy and good feelings. Advice to women The Minister advised women not to use mobile phones while cooking. He suggested performing devotional singing, or kirtan, during cooking. He also reminded families to treat sisters well, even if they live elsewhere, saying they are a part of the family’s blood and a form of Lakshmi. 35 years of tradition Speaking to the media, Vijayvargiya said the real joy of Diwali comes from seeing smiles on the faces of the elderly. He mentioned that this programme has been organised for 35 years during Rakshabandhan and Diwali. He said everyone enjoys singing, music, food, and firecrackers together. Plans for Ayodhya darshan and medicinal garden MIC member Rajendra Rathore said that, following the Minister’s instructions, elderly residents will be taken to Ayodhya to see Ramlala. Earlier, 40 residents had already visited Vaishno Devi. A medicinal garden has also been developed at the complex, with 151 medicinal plants planted. Arrangements have been made to maintain the garden and care for the plants.
