In Indore’s Chhatripura area, supporters of two BJP leaders clashed on Friday night, leading to chaos marked by stone pelting and lathi use. Several vehicles were damaged during the confrontation, and videos of the incident later emerged, showing the intensity of the scuffle. Police intervened to calm the situation after both parties reached the station with complaints against each other. Dispute over hoarding installation The conflict began during the installation of a hoarding for a private program. Nitesh Chauhan, media in-charge of the BJP Youth Front, was putting up hoardings in Biyabani around midnight. At the same time, a youth named Vicky Bais was passing through the area with a truck and found it difficult to navigate the space. Vicky reportedly asked Nitesh and his companions to clear the way. This led to an argument, after which one of Nitesh’s companions allegedly slapped Vicky. Escalation into violence Following the incident, Vicky’s supporters gathered and went to Nitesh’s location, leading to a heated confrontation. Both groups resorted to hitting each other with sticks, and stones were also thrown. During the clash, windows of vehicles parked nearby were shattered. The crowd also targeted the house and hotel of Yuva Morcha state vice president Ganga Pandey. Police intervention and political connections Police reached the site after receiving information and managed to bring the situation under control. Nitesh Chauhan is associated with Ganga Pandey, while Vicky and his supporters are linked to Eklavya Gaur, the son of BJP MLA Malini Gaur. Both parties lodged complaints at the police station, and an investigation into the incident is underway to determine the extent of the damage and responsibility.
