In Chhatarpur, a follow-up vehicle in the convoy of Minister of State Dilip Ahirwar collided with an e-rickshaw on Thursday evening. Seven people were injured, including an elderly man who lost both legs. He underwent surgery at a Gwalior hospital. Six others, including the e-rickshaw driver, also sustained injuries. Accident location and details The accident took place near Basantpur Tirahe, in the Lavkush Nagar police station area. Sahab Singh (70), a resident of Budoura village, was returning from Lavkush Nagar after buying items for Diwali. Seven people were riding in the e-rickshaw when the follow-up vehicle collided with it, causing it to overturn. Victim taken to hospital The seriously injured Sahab Singh was first taken to Lavkush Nagar Hospital. After initial treatment, he was referred to the district hospital and later transferred to Gwalior for further care. Dr Neeraj Soni of Chhatarpur District Hospital said both of the elderly man’s legs were amputated due to the severe injuries. Minister returning from Dussehra ceremony Family members said Minister Dilip Ahirwar was returning to Lavkush Nagar after attending a Dussehra Milan ceremony in Barha village when the accident occurred. Treatment under Ayushman Yojana Kapoor Singh, Sahab Singh’s nephew, said the police brought him to the hospital. The minister has assured that his treatment will be covered under the Ayushman Yojana scheme.
