2 vehicle lifters fall into TT Nagar police’s dragnet:10 stolen bikes valued at Rs 18 lakh seized; both the accused are habitual offenders

Bhopal’s TT Nagar Police on Wednesday unearthed a major vehicle theft racket operating across the city, the police said. Acting on swift investigation, the police arrested two men and recovered 10 stolen two-wheelers worth Rs 18 lakh from various parts of the city. According to the police, both the accused are habitual offenders. Complaint leads to probe TT Nagar police station house officer (SHO) Gourav Singh Dohare said that the case began on October 10, 2025, when complainant Tarun Singh Rawat, reported the theft of his motorcycle (registration number MP04 QQ 3639) from outside Tabaji Café at Bhopal’s Depot Square. He had parked the vehicle to dine at Basant Restaurant, but found it missing upon his return. On his complaint, police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation under the supervision of senior officers. 2 caught with stolen bike During patrol near Banganga Dussehra Maidan, police teams noticed two young men riding a suspicious bike without a number plate. Upon questioning, they identified themselves as Kasim alias Danish Khan (21), a resident of Bhopal’s Rajeev Nagar, and Nadeem Hasan (21), a resident of Bhopal’s Aishbag area. When asked for ownership documents, they failed to produce any. A check through the VDP portal revealed the bike was stolen from TT Nagar. Both suspects were detained and, during interrogation, confessed to jointly stealing motorcycles from different locations across TT Nagar, Kolar, Ayodhya Nagar, Ashoka Garden, Shahjahanabad, Govindpura, and Hanumanganj. Ten bikes seized from the accused Following the confession, police recovered 10 stolen motorcycles, including brands like Yamaha, Honda, and Bajaj, from various city locations. The total value of the seized vehicles is close to Rs 18 lakh. The arrested accused have been booked under multiple sections of the BNS and will be produced before the court soon, the police said.
