A major accident occurred on Saturday in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, during electricity pole shifting in Raipura village under Panagar police station. Employee Udit Raj Paraste was electrocuted and trapped in the wires for about 10 minutes. Fellow workers and locals rescued him and admitted him to the hospital in serious condition. The work was being carried out by Moon Lighting Company, and Paraste had climbed the pole to disconnect electricity. Electrocuted during pole shifting During the work, the line suddenly became live, due to which Udit Raj came into contact with the electric wires and hung there. He struggled for about 10 minutes. Upon receiving the information, the power supply was cut, after which the employee was brought down and admitted to Jabalpur Medical College Hospital. According to doctors, his condition is serious and he has been placed on ventilator support. Police sought answers from company-contractor
After the incident, Panagar police station reached the spot and started investigation. Police have sought answers from officials of the electricity department and the contracting company Moon Lighting. Preliminary investigation suggests the possibility of negligence of safety standards.
