Complaint lodged on October 7, 2025 Nishatpura police station in-charge Manoj Patwa said that the case was reported on October 7, 2025 by a jeweller named Ram Babu Rathore (46), proprietor of New Shri Mahavir Adarsh Jewellers in Risaldar Colony of Bhopal’s Chhola Mandir area. Rathore, who also sells jewellery while travelling, had taken a bag full of ornaments in his car (MP04 YA 3202) to Bina, Sagar, on October 6, 2025. Due to heavy rains, sales could not be carried out, and he returned to Bhopal. At night, he halted at a roadside eatery in Bhanpur, where he consumed food and alcohol. Investigation and arrests A joint police team comprising personnel from the Nishatpura, Gandhi Nagar, and Chhola Mandir police stations was formed. More than 100 CCTV cameras along possible escape routes were examined, and local informer networks were activated. The suspects were later identified as Harish Yadav (25), an auto driver from Shiv Nagar Colony, and Deepak Suryavanshi (26), a fabricator from Geeta Nagar, both of Chhola, Bhopal. Police recovered the stolen ornaments from Yadav’s rented house. The accused confessed to stealing the bag after spotting the complainant asleep in his car in an inebriated state. Criminal record and modus-operandi According to police, both men have multiple previous cases of theft, assault, and arms offences registered against them at Chhola Mandir police station.
