In a remarkable display of presence of mind and swift action, two police constables from Chhoti Gwaltoli police station saved the life of a 25-year-old man from Aligarh, who suffered a heart attack while checking into a hotel in Indore. The youth, identified as Abdul Samad, works for a private company that also has an office in Indore. He had arrived in the city from Aligarh on official duty. On Saturday evening, as he was showing his Aadhaar card at the reception of Hotel Gul Mohar, near Patel Bridge in Chhoti Gwaltoli, he suddenly suffered a heart attack and collapsed. Witnesses said Samad turned unconscious and fell to the floor while the hotel staff, startled by the incident, immediately called the police for help. Policemen rush to the rescue Head Constables Lokesh Singh and Jayveer Singh from Chhoti Gwaltoli police station were nearby and rushed to the hotel. Assessing the emergency, the officers quickly began Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Within a few seconds of receiving CPR, Samad’s condition improved, he began breathing and regained consciousness. Soon after, an ambulance was arranged and the youth was shifted to MY Hospital, where doctors are currently monitoring his condition. Eyewitnesses and police response Eyewitnesses recalled that as the police administered CPR, a crowd gathered outside the hotel. Some bystanders assisted by fanning the youth and keeping him alert on police instructions.Head constable Lokesh Singh later said, The situation was very serious, but timely CPR made the difference. It saved his life. Praise for police’s quick action The hotel management and people present at the scene lauded the promptness and presence of mind of the two policemen. They emphasized that their quick response prevented a possible tragedy.
