Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi mocked Pakistan as he congratulated the Indian cricket team for winning a record-extending 9th Asia Cup title. PM Modi reminded Pakistan that India prevailed during ‘Operation Sindoor’ as he drew parallels with the Indian team’s on-field victory. “Operation Sindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same – India wins! Congrats to our cricketers,” read PM Modi’s tweet. Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy also took to X to applaud the fantastic knock from India’s match-winner Tilak Varma. He scored 69 runs and Reddy called it ‘Operation Tilak’ on social media. Meanwhile, ICC chief Jay Shah also posted on social media to congratulate the Indian team. “Congratulations to #TeamIndia on lifting the Asia Cup 2025! A proud moment for Indian cricket as Team India showcases excellence, consistency, and character on the biggest stage. Kudos to the players and support staff for a stellar campaign,” wrote the former BCCI secretary. Netizens wanted India to boycott Pakistan after the heinous Pahalgam terror attack. After India beat Pakistan in the final, Indian army personnel were seen celebrating. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan also mocked Pakistani fans after the Indian team’s victory. Indian Badminton legend and two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu also mocked Pakistan’s Haris Rauf, who was fined by the ICC for his provocative celebration last Sunday. Jasprit Bumrah gave a brutal reply to Rauf by dismissing the Pakistan pacer. BCCI’s official handle also posted a picture of the Indian team as they celebrated three consecutive wins over Pakistan. The apex board announced 21 crores prize money for the Indian team and the support staff.
