A body was recovered late Tuesday night near the stairs of Bijasan Mata Temple in Indore’s Aerodrome police station area. The deceased was identified as Deepak, son of Mohanlal Kiran, a resident of Siddharth Nagar. Deepak worked as a loading auto driver. Attack with cement block Police said they received information around midnight that a man was lying injured near the temple stairs. On reaching the spot, they found Deepak’s body with severe head injuries. A heavy cement block, suspected to have been used in the attack, was also recovered from the scene. His mobile phone was found lying nearby. Daily temple visit routine Investigations revealed that Deepak had a daily routine of stopping at the temple stairs for worship on his way back from work before returning home. On Tuesday night as well, he had followed the same practice. Police suspect he was attacked shortly after completing his prayers. Family’s statement Police informed Deepak’s family the same night. His wife Durga told officers that he normally returned home by 10 PM, but on Tuesday his phone was switched off and he did not come back. Deepak is survived by his wife and three daughters. His brother Lokendra said the family had shifted from Harsiddhi Colony to Siddharth Nagar three years ago after buying a house. Investigation underway The Aerodrome police have launched a probe into the murder. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being scanned, and local residents are being questioned to identify the culprit.
