Varanasi has established India’s first waste-to-charcoal plant in collaboration with NTPC at the Ramna sewage treatment plant, processing 400 tons of city waste daily. District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar reviewed the plant’s operations, waste disposal, and charcoal production.
