Watch: Madhya Pradesh school ditches ‘backbencher’ setup with ‘U-shaped’ seating plan; inspired by Malayalam film ‘Sthaanarthi Shreekuttan’

Govt. High School, Dongargaon in Burhanpur district, Madhya Pradesh, has pioneered a ‘U-shape’ seating arrangement, inspired by Kerala, to eliminate the concept of ‘backbenchers.’ Principal Jagdish Patil’s initiative fosters dialogue, inclusivity, and leadership by positioning students face-to-face with the teacher. Following its success in Class 10, Class 9 students requested the same arrangement, drawing interest from other district schools.
