Good news for Indian Railways passengers! Soon you may get higher refund on IRCTC train tickets – here’s what’s being planned

Indian Railways is considering reducing or eliminating ‘clerkage’ fees deducted from cancelled waitlisted tickets, potentially benefiting passengers. This move comes as online bookings increase and operational costs decrease. Simultaneously, Railways will require identity verification for Tatkal bookings starting July 1, 2025, using Aadhaar or DigiLocker.
