The dispute over listing Tata Sons on the stock market through an IPO and its management has intensified. Six major Parsi organisations from India and abroad have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in support of Tata Trusts. The organisations have appealed to the Prime Minister to protect the Tata Group’s decades-old ownership structure and way of functioning so that its tradition of social service and philanthropy can continue. The organisations said the matter should not be viewed merely as a fight between two shareholders, as it will directly affect the future of the country’s largest and most trusted business group.
