Gold and silver prices rose today, 16 September. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold increased by ₹992 to ₹1.52 lakh. One kilogram of silver became ₹2,418 more expensive, rising to ₹2.29 lakh. Gold has become ₹18,000 more expensive so far in 2026. On 31 December 2025, 10 grams of gold were priced at ₹1.33 lakh, compared with ₹1.52 lakh now. Meanwhile, silver stood at ₹2.30 lakh per kg on 31 December 2025 and now stands at around ₹2.31 lakh. During this period, gold also hit an all-time high of ₹1.76 lakh and silver ₹3.86 lakh on 29 January.
