Air India Express changes crew members’ uniforms:Clothes made from banana fiber fabric, featuring Kanjeevaram and Gamosa craft designs

Air India Express has now changed the uniforms of its cabin crew and frontline staff following the makeover of its aircraft. The new uniforms were introduced on September 1. The Tata Group airline has incorporated Indian textile traditions into a modern and contemporary wardrobe. The garments have been made from fabric derived from banana fibers. They also feature Kanjivaram, Patola and Gamusa craft designs. These Teams Received the New Uniforms The new look is not limited to cabin crew members such as air hostesses and flight attendants. The airline has introduced new uniforms for airport ground staff, aviation security teams and all employees associated with flight operations. Along with comfort, special attention has also been paid to the garments’ elegant and attractive designs. New Outfit Design for Women and Men The uniform for female employees has been designed in a kurti style, paired with a modern jacket, scarf, and pocket square. The women’s attire and ground staff uniforms have been designed by Air India Express’s in-house designer, Pooja Krishnan. Meanwhile, the uniform for the male cabin crew has been created in collaboration with Trent Limited. ‘Express Blue’ Color Replaces Red Air India Express has replaced its long-standing red identity with the ‘Express Blue’ and ‘Express Orange’ theme. This sudden change and the new combination of blue colors are being widely discussed on social media. Use of Banana Fibers in the Fabric The uniform is not only attractive but also extremely comfortable. For this purpose, banana crepe fabric, made from natural banana fibers, has been used. This fabric is lightweight, breathable, and durable. It will keep employees working long shifts at airports and during flights comfortable throughout, while also maintaining the fit of the clothing. Part of the Airline’s ‘Tales of India’ Theme This new uniform is part of Air India Express’s ‘Tales of India’ theme. Earlier, the airline showcased glimpses of Indian art and culture on the rear sections of its planes (tail art). Now, the same cultural colors will be reflected through the employees’ uniforms.
