The government has issued around 150 notices in recent months against several major food brands and retail chains for violating regulations. India’s food safety regulator, the FSSAI, issued these notices over misleading advertisements, false claims and non-compliance with labelling rules. The companies that received notices include major players such as Nestlé India, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola India. 12 notices to Amazon-Flipkart, five Domino’s licences suspended The FSSAI has issued 12 notices to e-commerce companies Amazon and Flipkart. The regulator said that the licence of one Amazon warehouse has also been cancelled. Meanwhile, more than 30 notices have been issued to food service chains such as KFC, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Costa Coffee. Five licences of Domino’s have been suspended.
