A security lapse involving Union Minister Nitin Gadkari came to light in Ratlam on Thursday afternoon after three youths suddenly appeared in front of his convoy on the eight-lane Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The incident occurred near Shivgarh Bridge in Ratlam district. Vehicles accompanying the Union Minister’s convoy swerved past the youths by moving into the adjacent lane. It shows three youths standing in the middle of the highway, signalling vehicles to stop. On Wednesday, Gadkari had reached Rajasthan to inspect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. He reviewed the nearly 90-km stretch between Bundi and Kota before leaving for Gujarat. During the journey, he passed through Ratlam on Thursday. Villagers said – Youths were helping children cross the road Police launched an inquiry into the incident. The three youths have been identified as Shantilal (32), Nandlal Bhabhar (30) and Dinesh Bhabhar (30), all residents of Nimkopada Palsodi village. The youths told police that their children study at a school located on the other side of the highway. On Thursday, they were taking the children to school and were signalling vehicles to stop so the children could cross the road safely. Villagers said they had no information that Union Minister Gadkari’s convoy was scheduled to pass through the area. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident. Police have recorded the statements of all three youths.
