A condolence and resilience gathering was organised on Sunday at Masjid-e-Aale Mohammad in Karond, Bhopal, in memory of former Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The event was attended by a large number of people, with speakers highlighting Khamenei’s life, struggles, and role in the Islamic Revolution. During the gathering the attendees raised slogans of the US and Israel. Speakers recall Khamenei’s role in the Islamic revolution Addressing the gathering, Maulana Ghulam Hussain said Ayatollah Khamenei had played an active role from the early days of the Islamic Revolution. He said Khamenei later worked closely with Imam Khomeini and took on several responsibilities connected with the revolutionary movement. ‘Faced arrest, imprisonment and torture’ Maulana Hussain said Khamenei was arrested, imprisoned, and subjected to repeated torture because of his revolutionary activities. He added that around three years before the Islamic Revolution, Khamenei was sentenced to internal exile. Although the order was reportedly not implemented at the time, he continued to face imprisonment and sustained persecution. ‘Never wavered from his mission’ The speaker said that despite years of hardship and oppression, Ayatollah Khamenei remained committed to his mission. He described Khamenei’s leadership and perseverance as a key factor behind the success of the Islamic Revolution and said his life continues to inspire people around the world. Religious leaders participate in event The programme was also addressed by Maulana Syed Jaun Abdi, Maulana Syed Shahkar Hussain Zaidi, and Maulana Syed Azhar Hussain Rizvi, among other religious leaders.
