In Rajasthan’s Dausa district, a bus crashed into a truck travelling ahead of it on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Both vehicles caught fire after the collision. So far, eight people have died in the accident. Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit said the crash took place around 2.30 am on Tuesday night in the Kolwa police station area. The bus was travelling from Rishikesh to Indore. According to officials, six people died after suffering severe burns, while two others died from head injuries. A total of 21 people were injured and have been admitted to Dausa District Hospital. Meanwhile, local residents have alleged that rescue efforts were delayed. A villager claimed that the fire spread rapidly because the bus’s luggage compartment was filled with cigarette cartons. Information is currently being gathered about where the bus was going and regarding the passengers. The cameras installed on the expressway are also being checked.
