EPFO’s online claim processing portal will remain closed from June 26 to 28, 2026. The reason is system migration and software upgradation. During this period, PF withdrawal, e-passbook service and other digital services will remain closed. Question 1: From when to when will EPFO’s online portal remain closed? Answer: According to the official notice issued on the EPFO member portal, the online claim submission and processing service will remain closed from 00:00 hours on June 26, 2026 till 23:59 hours on June 28, 2026 next year. All digital services will resume from 00:00 hours on June 29, 2026. Question 2: What is the main reason for this 3-day shutdown? Answer: EPFO is conducting a major ‘Database Consolidation’ and software application upgrade to strengthen its database. According to the organization, this is a system migration being done under a fixed schedule. Its objective is to provide faster, secure and more reliable service to customers in the future. Question 3: What will be the impact of this shutdown on PF account holders i.e. subscribers? Answer: During these three days, no account holder will be able to submit new online claims. Apart from this, work on claims that are already in process will also be stopped. People who need money in emergency will have to wait for transfer or withdrawal. Apart from this, e-passbook service, ECR filing and UAN cannot be linked to the account. Question 4: Will the claims that have been submitted before June 26 be processed? Answer: The notice has clarified that claims that have been filed before the migration period begins will also not be processed during this period. Action on them will be taken only after the portal resumes on June 29. Question 5: What should one do if any problem arises during the shutdown or help is needed? Answer: EPFO has said that it regrets this temporary inconvenience and has appealed to members to be patient. If any subscriber needs any urgent information or help, they can contact EPFO’s official call center helpline number 14470. Question 6: Is this shutdown also related to any new service or major change? Answer: Yes, this shutdown is happening at a time when the organization is preparing to launch a facility for its subscribers to withdraw money through UPI and ATM by the end of this month. After this major change, the organization’s traditional paper-based and complex online work will become completely modern. Question 7: How will this new facility of withdrawing money from PF through UPI and ATM work? Answer: Until now, to withdraw PF money, one had to follow a lengthy process by visiting the UAN (UAN) portal. But now EPFO is working on an app. This app will be directly linked to the subscriber’s bank account and will work easily with UPI platforms. Question 8: After the new UPI facility is implemented, how much money will account holders be able to withdraw at one time? Answer: After this new system is activated, subscribers will be able to withdraw up to 75% of their PF balance instantly. This process will be as easy as when you transfer money online to a friend or withdraw cash from an ATM.
