The Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation, Sanjay Nagayach, conducted a surprise inspection of four warehouses owned by Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Jitu Patwari in Palia village of Sanwer Assembly constituency. During the inspection, Nagayach claimed that Patwari’s warehouses lacked basic fire safety arrangements and were operating in violation of established norms. He directed officials on the spot to issue a notice to Patwari for the alleged violations and initiate action to terminate the warehouses’ eligibility for storing government foodgrain. Following the inspection and the allegations, PCC chief Jitu Patwari immediately called Warehousing Corporation General Manager Anurag Verma. Patwari told the official that if the government believed any rules were being violated, it should immediately vacate the warehouses. He made it clear that he would neither bow to pressure nor tolerate what he described as humiliation driven by political vendetta. Chairman said- Not even sand and buckets to extinguish fire After inspecting the warehouses, Warehousing Corporation Chairman Sanjay Nagayach said that despite being such a senior political leader, Jitu Patwari had not even arranged sand and buckets for fire-fighting purposes at the warehouses. He instructed officials to take the matter seriously and issue a notice. Nagayach also said that he had inspected nearly 100 warehouses across the state, not just those owned by Patwari. Patwari said: Some Tom, Dick and Harry went to my warehouse Speaking to General Manager Anurag Verma over the phone, Jitu Patwari said, “Some newly appointed person… I don’t know him. He is associated with warehousing. He visited our warehouse and questioned why there were cobwebs inside and outside. “I had written earlier and have sent another letter today as well. If you can vacate our warehouse, please do so. We will not break any rules under government pressure. We will take full care of your grain and leave no shortcomings. If you vacate it, it would be a favour.” GM said- I’ll check who went there As Patwari continued speaking, Verma asked in confusion, “I will check who had gone there.” Patwari replied that it was a BJP leader who had recently been appointed in the Warehousing Corporation. Verma then clarified, “Sir, that would be Sanjay Nagayach.” Rent is not being paid and they are insulting After the name was clarified, Patwari expressed his displeasure and said, “Yes, Nagayach. If he behaves as though we owe someone a debt, that will not happen. I have humbly requested earlier as well that if you wish, you can remove our centre.” “I have already written about this before and am sending another letter today. Please vacate the stock. Your grain is completely safe and not even a single penny’s worth is missing. Your regular officials inspect it anyway.” Concluding his remarks, Patwari said, “If we are to be humiliated in this manner… first, the warehouse rent is not paid on time, and on top of that, we are not here to be insulted. Please remove your stock from there.” In response, General Manager Verma simply said, “Okay, sir.” Post navigation President to attend multiple events in Jabalpur today:To honour 20 meritorious students at RDVV’s 36th convocation ceremony Student found dead in Bhopal rented room:Sister asked friend to check on him after calls went unanswered
