‘she-couldn’t-gather-courage-for-a-fourth-neet-attempt’:father-of-indore-student-who-died-by-suicide-says,-‘she-was-under-extreme-stress’

My daughter had been working hard continuously for 3 years. Her previous NEET exam went very well. She had told everyone and was happy. But then, the paper was leaked. She was preparing for the NEET re-exam, which was to happen 2 days later. This is what Dr. Banshilal Maurya, father of Avantika, the student who jumped from the roof in Indore on Thursday (June 18), said. He stated that she had already taken the NEET exam three times. She couldn’t gather the courage for the fourth time and took this step due to stress. On the other hand, neighbors reported hearing a thud at the time of the incident. Her mother, Bodarbai, first heard a young man shouting that someone had fallen down. She panicked and first ran towards the roof. From there, she saw that Avantika had already jumped down by placing her feet on a chair kept on the roof. It is to be noted that Avantika was first taken to a private hospital and then to MY Hospital in critical condition. She passed away on Friday morning (June 19). Father said – Everyone was going to sleep after eating food Dr. Banshilal Maurya told Dainik Bhaskar that he is a Medical Officer in Bhikangaon, Khargone. He had come to Indore with his family five days ago for training at MY Hospital. His daughter was preparing for NEET while living in a flat with her elder sister Sapna. Sapna is also a doctor. On Thursday, the entire family, including his mother and brother, was present in the flat. Everyone was preparing to sleep after eating and drinking. Avantika went out for a walk after eating and this accident happened. Avantika’s father said that his daughter had taken the exam three times so far but did not pass. After the last paper, she had said that her previous exam went very well. She was also happy, but the paper leaked again. Wanted to serve by becoming a doctor The father said that his daughter had been working hard for the past 3 years with the dream of becoming a doctor, but due to not getting selected, she had gone into stress for the last 5-6 months. Even if we told her not to worry, she always used to say that she wanted to become a doctor and serve. For the first 2 years, she attended offline coaching, and this time she was studying online at home. She had a childhood dream of becoming a doctor and serving people better, but despite continuous hard work, she was unable to get selected, while other children she knew had been selected. When Avantika’s mother asked her the reason for her quietness, she spoke about the stress of studies and her friends and family children passing their exams. She spoke very little to family members and just kept saying that she wasn’t getting selected. She often told her mother, ‘I am not getting selected.’ This was what caused her the most depression. Her father says, For the last 4-5 months, she spoke the least. She often spoke to her mother, sadly, about her friends and other family members passing their exams. For the last 5 days, the whole family was together. Girls ran out after hearing the sound of the blast A young man living in the same building where Avantika lived had gone down late at night to fill water. He was the first to see Avantika falling from above. The young man immediately stepped forward, picked her up and gave her water, but she did not regain consciousness. The same young man shouted and first informed the family members about this accident. Meanwhile, in the building next to the one from which Avantika jumped to commit suicide, three girls live on rent, who were inside their house at that time. Those girls said that as soon as Avantika jumped from above, they heard a loud thud, like something resembling a sack falling. As soon as they heard the sound, all the girls immediately ran outside. She used to talk with a smile, never thought she would take such a step. The woman who runs a grocery store in the street said that Avantika was very good-natured. She often used to come to her shop to buy things. She would also talk to my daughters here. We never saw her angry or stressed, she always spoke to everyone with a smile. Looking at her, it never seemed like she would take such a big step. Mother looked down and saw her daughter lying on the road After Avantika jumped from the roof, her mother Bodarbai was terrified and in a hurry, she first ran towards the roof. She looked down and saw her daughter lying on the road. Avantika climbed onto a chair kept on the third floor and jumped from there. Since the incident, the entire family, including the mother, is in shock. As the mother repeatedly felt dizzy, her elder daughter Sonam and her cousin kept giving her water and comforting her. Avantika’s elder sister Sapna lives with her in the flat and is a doctor. Her younger brother is in 7th grade.
