Virat Kohli is set to undergo a fitness test on the 22nd June, ahead of the upcoming ODI series against England. The legendary batter was visited by a staff member of the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in London. The 37-year-old is recovering well from the hamstring injury he sustained during the IPL 2026 final, and the BCCI will take a call on his fitness on Monday. Elsewhere, ANI have reported that Hardik Pandya will be ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against England. The star all-rounder’s return in Indian colours will be delayed, as he has failed to recover from the quadriceps strain that sidelined him from the ODI series against Afghanistan. BCCI to take final call on Virat Kohli’s fitness soon Virat is expected to touchdown in India soon; he will attend a promotional event on Sunday, and thereafter he will get his fitness clearance on Monday. The legendary cricketer suffered a niggle during the IPL 2026 final against Gujarat Titans, as he helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru retain their IPL crown. “Virat Kohli is progressing well following right hamstring injury sustained in the IPL. He was assessed by the CoE team in London and handed over the program to continue in the initial phase of rehab and he will report to the CoE on 22nd June 2026 for re-evaluation, further planning and subsequent clearance,” the fitness update from the CoE’s sports science team sent to the selection committee and team management stated. Hardik Pandya ruled out of England ODIs Having played his last T20I for India in March, Hardik Pandya has still not fully recovered from the quadriceps strain he sustained during the weeks after IPL. The star all-rounder is not in a position to bowl his full quota of 10 overs, thus, he will continue to work on his fitness. “Hardik Pandya has not been able to attain requisite amount of bowling volume and conditioning required for an ODI format and will require more time to regain complete fitness for an ODI,” ANI reported. All other players who are in selection contention are fit. The ODI team will be announced once selectors get final update on Kohli’s availability.
