Ranger accuses constable wife of theft:Claims she fled with SUV, ₹2 lakh and iPhone after hotel row

A Forest Range Officer in Satna district has accused his estranged wife, a police constable, of stealing his SUV, cash and mobile phone from his government residence. Based on the complaint, Barondha police have registered a case and launched an investigation. According to the complaint filed by Ranger Brijendra Kumar Pandey, his wife Bharti Upadhyay arrived at his government residence in the Barondha area on the night of June 16 along with two unidentified persons. He alleged that the trio drove away with his Mahindra XUV 3XO (MP13ZU6331), ₹2 lakh in cash and an iPhone. Police said the couple has been involved in a long-running marital dispute. Divorce proceedings between the two have been pending before the Family Court in Rewa since 2025, and they have been living separately for some time. Investigators are examining all aspects of the complaint. The latest controversy comes just a day after Bharti Upadhyay allegedly confronted her husband at a hotel in Rewa. Acting on a tip-off, she reportedly reached a room at Hotel Royal Inn on June 15, where she suspected the ranger was staying. When the door was opened, Brijendra Pandey allegedly claimed that no one else was inside. However, a young woman was later found in the room, leading to a heated confrontation. Following the incident, Brijendra Pandey has been transferred to the Sanjay Tiger Reserve in Sidhi district. Police said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. Commotion from hotel to street, fled sitting in a dumper The wife brought the young woman out of the room and had a heated argument about their relationship. There was a commotion from the hotel premises to the street. People present at the scene made videos of the incident, which went viral on social media. According to eyewitnesses, when the dispute escalated, the ranger and the young woman sat in a dumper and left from there, while the wife continued to create a commotion for a long time. FIR also registered against ranger and woman friend Legal action has already begun at Chorhata police station in Rewa regarding the commotion that occurred at the hotel. The police have registered an FIR against ranger Brijendra Pandey and his woman friend. However, the police have not yet made public the sections of the FIR and detailed points of the complaint. Has also sent ranger to jail by accusing him of rape Ranger Brijendra Kumar Pandey alleges that while posted in Shahdol, Constable Bharti Upadhyay filed a rape case against him and had him sent to jail. According to the Ranger- When I was imprisoned in Shahdol jail, Bharti would forcibly come to meet me. The jail administration complained to the SP Shahdol about Bharti’s behavior. Later, both got married with mutual consent. Currently, a divorce case is ongoing in court.
