With the NEET examination set to be re-conducted on June 21 following its cancellation, lakhs of students across the country will once again appear for the medical entrance test. In response to a request from the National Testing Agency (NTA), the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has temporarily blocked access to the Telegram app until June 22 as part of efforts to prevent any malpractice. In Jabalpur, the district administration has put in place extensive arrangements for the examination. A total of 23 examination centres have been set up across the city, where more than 10,000 candidates are expected to appear. Acting on state government directives, the Collector has been tasked with overseeing all preparations at the district level. For the first time, special bus services will be operated to ferry students to their examination centres. The administration is also setting up temporary canteens and shaded waiting areas for parents and guardians to ensure they remain comfortable during the examination hours. Adequate arrangements for electricity, cooling and drinking water have been made at all centres. Jabalpur Collector Raghvendra Singh said buses will operate from Pentinaka Chowk until noon on June 21 to help candidates reach their centres on time. President Murmu to visit on same day To strengthen security, CCTV cameras, biometric systems and signal jammers will be installed at all examination centres two days before the test. The administration has also prepared a detailed traffic and movement plan as President Droupadi Murmu, Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav are scheduled to visit Jabalpur on the same day. This is aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of the examination without inconvenience to students.
