The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Tuesday, took a major decision regarding the transfer of state government employees. The government has granted an additional 24-hour relaxation in the transfer period and extended the deadline. Transfers can now be carried out across the state until midnight today. It may be recalled that the Cabinet had approved the transfer policy during its meeting on 20 May. Following this, the General Administration Department issued orders on 22 May directing all departments to complete transfers by 15 June. The government has now decided to provide one extra day for the process. The Cabinet also approved the revised cost of the Indore Metro Rail Project. The estimated cost of the project was earlier fixed at around ₹7,500 crore, but it has now been increased to ₹12,900 crore. The revised proposal was approved in view of rising costs and the requirements of the project. The decision is expected to support the continued development and expansion of the metro rail network in Indore. Background of the transfer policy The Cabinet had approved the transfer policy on May 20. Following this, the General Administration Department issued orders on May 22 directing all departments to complete transfers by June 15. Now, the government has extended the deadline by one more day.
