In Gwalior, two second-year MBBS students of Gajraraja Medical College (GRMC) drowned in Tighra Dam on Saturday evening after slipping into 40-50 feet deep water. The incident occurred around 7 pm in the dam’s Kacchi Paar area, where public entry is prohibited. Rescue teams recovered the body of Gopal Agarwal late at night, while the search for Ayush Srivastava has continued since 6 AM on Sunday. The operation is being hampered by the dam’s depth, mud, and rocky terrain. The rest of their companions were present at the picnic spot above. When the two did not return for a long time, their friends started searching. Following this, fearing a mishap, the police were informed. Upon receiving the information, Tighra police station, CSP Krishnapal Singh, and the station in-charge Shivram Singh Kanshana reached the spot. SDRF and local divers were deployed for the rescue operation. Searching was carried out throughout the night with the help of boats and high-power lights. A continuous search operation is being conducted with the help of local divers. The families of both students have been informed.
