Let’s take a look at them. IND vs AFG, 1st ODI, Top Moments 1) Rohit Sharma fumes after mix-up with Shubman Gill leads to run out Rohit Sharma was left fuming and disappointed after being run out following a bizarre mix-up with Gill. This incident happened in the sixth over of the chase bowled by Allah Ghazanfar when Rohit attempted a quick single. Gill initially started out but collided with Allah Ghazanfar and was heard yelling, ‘No run.’ But by then, Rohit was always halfway down the crease and although he tried hard, he was unable to make it back. After being run out, Rohit was angry and disappointed at the same time as he walked back to the pavilion. Later, Gill clarified in the post-match presentation that Rohit had watched the replay and was fine with it. “He saw the replay, he said it’s fine. Even in the last match that we played against Afghanistan, T20s, he got run out there as well,” he said. 2) Shubman Gill’s spectacular one-handed catch at slip Gill produced a sensational bit of fielding in the first innings when he took a one-handed catch to dismiss Allah Ghazanfar. This happened in the 22nd over of the first innings when Allah Ghazanfar slashed hard at a delivery from Harsh Dubey and ended up getting an outside edge. Fielding at first slip, Gill stretched out his left hand and caught the ball. He also ensured that he had control of the ball as he fell down after that effort. 3) Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s ‘Heart’ celebration after half-century After completing his fifty, Rahmanullah Gurbaz celebrated with a heart gesture, delighting fans at the HPCA Stadium. The opener acknowledged the crowd’s support before continuing his impressive knock. Alongside captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, Gurbaz forged a rapid 116-run stand for the fourth wicket in just 66 deliveries, putting Afghanistan in a strong position. 4) Brar, Dubey strike on debut in unique coincidence Both of India’s debutants- Harsh Dubey and Gurnoor Brar impressed in their debut appearance. Brar struck in his first over in international cricket when he dismissed Ibrahim Zadran and Dubey, after a rough start, got his first scalp when he accounted for Hashmatullah Shahidi. The coincidence? Gill had given Brar his debut cap, and he was the one who took Zadran’s catch to hand the youngster his maiden ODI wicket. The same happened for Dubey, for whom Rahul took the catch, after handing the youngster his debut cap before the match. 5) Nitish Reddy gets surprise call from mother during press conference Nitish Reddy’s press conference had an unexpected interruption when his mother called him up.
