Metro becomes a platform for health awareness, with citizens experiencing a unique fitness-themed journey inside a moving coach. Metro ride turns into a health awareness campaign Bhopal Metro’s ‘Celebration on Wheels’ initiative got off to a successful start on Sunday, transforming a routine journey into an engaging health awareness programme. Around 50 participants, including women, men and children, joined the first event and took part in various activities aimed at promoting healthy living. The initiative offered residents a chance to experience Metro travel in a different way while also encouraging them to adopt healthier lifestyles. Participants travelled in a moving Metro coach from AIIMS Station to Subhash Nagar Station during the evening. Healthy lifestyle message reaches metro passengers During the journey, participants took part in several recreational and interactive activities. Organisers used the platform to spread awareness about the importance of physical fitness and overall well-being. The programme combined entertainment with public outreach, making health awareness more engaging for people of different age groups. Officials said the initiative has been designed to connect with citizens in an innovative manner. Instead of traditional awareness campaigns, the moving Metro coach provided a dynamic environment where participants could actively engage with the message. First event attracts enthusiastic public participation The response to the inaugural event was encouraging, with participants showing enthusiasm throughout the journey. Families, children and adults joined the activities and interacted with fellow passengers while learning about healthy habits. Organisers believe such programmes can help create greater awareness about fitness and preventive healthcare among urban residents. The initiative also allowed participants to experience the Metro system in a unique setting before regular operations expand further. Unique metro experience combines fitness and fun Apart from promoting health awareness, the event showcased how public transport can be used as a community engagement platform. By combining recreation, awareness and travel, the programme delivered a memorable experience for participants. Officials are hopeful that future editions of ‘Celebration on Wheels’ will attract even more residents and encourage wider participation in activities focused on health, wellness and community engagement.
