A sting operation by Dainik Bhaskar has exposed widespread Use of Unfair Means (UFM) during the PGDCA and DCA examinations of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU) at Yadunath College Examination Centre in Bhind. Dainik Bhaskar, during its investigation, captured on camera examinees openly using mobile phones and artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google to search for answers and write them in their answer sheets. More attention on mobile screens than answer sheets The video purportedly captures students inside examination halls, continuously consulting their mobile phones as they write their answers. According to the investigation, many candidates were seen searching for solutions through AI-powered platforms instead of solving the questions. The use of mobile phones and digital devices inside examination halls is strictly prohibited, yet the videos suggest that such devices were being used without restriction. See 4 pictures of the exam hall Reporter managed to smuggle mobile phones inside for two consecutive days Following reports that candidates were carrying mobile phones into the examination hall and using them for cheating, a Bhaskar reporter conducted an undercover investigation. Through a candidate, mobile phones were allegedly taken inside the examination centre on two consecutive days without any difficulty. On the second day, videos were recorded from inside the examination hall. The footage reportedly shows some students discussing answers in groups, while others searched for responses using AI tools and online platforms. The investigation also claims that no active flying squad or surprise inspection team was visible during the examinations. Special observer had earlier booked 24 cheating cases To curb malpractice at the Yadunath College centre, Dr. Hemant Dubey, Assistant Professor at MJS College, had been appointed as a Special Observer. According to Dr. Dubey, strict monitoring during the initial examinations led to the registration of 24 cheating cases across two to three examination papers. Sources claim that a proposal was subsequently sent to the university recommending cancellation of the examination centre. Given the seriousness of the allegations, the university had deployed a special observer, yet examinations continued at the centre. Principal orders detailed inquiry R.A. Sharma, Principal of the Lead College, said the matter had come to his notice and a detailed investigation was being conducted. He stated that if the allegations are found to be true, a recommendation would be sent to the university administration seeking cancellation of the examinations conducted at the centre.
