Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar met with Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal in New Delhi. During the meeting, the link between India and Nepal’s National Payment System (NPD) and UPI was finalised. This will make it easier for people of both countries to send money across the border. India also handed over 72 health facilities and 12 cultural heritage projects to Nepal as part of the ongoing reconstruction programme following the 2015 earthquake. Additionally, an agreement was reached between Kathmandu University and India’s Digital India Bhashini to develop a voice-first language translation platform for Nepal.
