In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, a man allegedly killed his wife in front of her 8-year-old stepson and later hanged her body inside their rented home. The child remained inside the house for nearly three days, frightened and alone with the body. The accused husband later died by suicide in an empty quarters located about 6 km away. The deceased have been identified as Mayank Singh (40) and Neha Singh. Neha was previously married, and her first husband had died. She had married Mayank about two years ago. Her 8-year-old son from the first marriage lived with them. Neha worked at a spa centre, which often led to disputes between the couple. See these pictures… Woman’s body found in rented house According to Adhartal police, Neha’s body was found at a rented house in New Kanchanpur area of Adhartal, while Mayank’s body was recovered on Saturday from a vacant GCF (Gun Carriage Factory) quarters where he had hanged himself. Both bodies have been sent for post-mortem at the medical college. The landlord informed police after noticing a strong foul smell coming from the house. When police reached the spot, the main door was locked from outside. After breaking the lock, they found Neha’s body in the kitchen. A dupatta was tied around her neck, and the other end was fastened to a ceiling fan. 8-year-old son found scared inside the house During the search, police found Neha’s 8-year-old son inside the house in a terrified condition. Mayank was not present at the time. The child was safely rescued and later questioned. The boy told police that his father often came home drunk and used to assault his mother. He also said that a dispute had taken place between his parents on Friday night, and that his father had killed his mother. Marriage took place two years ago Police said Neha was originally from Sihora, while Mayank belonged to Vijayraghavgarh in Katni district. Neha had entered into her second marriage after her first husband’s death. After marriage, the couple lived in a rented house in New Kanchanpur, Adhartal. Mayank worked in a chocolate factory in Jabalpur. Dispute used to occur over job at spa center Investigations revealed that disputes began after Mayank came to know about Neha’s job at a spa centre about a year ago. Police said domestic tensions kept increasing, leading to frequent fights between the couple. CSP Rajeshwari Kaurav said that the child’s statement indicates regular disputes between the husband and wife. The case is being investigated based on post-mortem reports, forensic examination, and evidence collected from the crime scene.
