A two-day training camp organised by the District Congress Committee began on Thursday at a resort in Datana on Dewas Road in Ujjain. The opening day was attended by Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari, state in-charge Harish Chaudhary, and several office-bearers of the All India Congress Committee. Following the inaugural session, Patwari addressed the media and launched a sharp attack on the state government, alleging corruption in projects related to the upcoming Simhastha festival. Nearly 275 party leaders and workers participate The training programme, organised to strengthen the party organisation, is being attended by approximately 275 participants, including: Multiple sessions have been scheduled during the two-day event, focusing on organisational expansion, the role of party workers and strengthening coordination within the party. Training camps to continue across the state Patwari said the Congress is conducting similar training camps across Madhya Pradesh and that the programme will continue for the next three to four months. According to him, the camps are designed to train workers in organisational strengthening, public outreach and promoting the party’s ideology at the grassroots and booth levels. Patwari alleges corruption in Simhastha-related projects During his interaction with the media, Patwari levelled serious allegations of corruption in projects linked to the Simhastha preparations. He claimed that large-scale irregularities were taking place in tenders related to Simhastha works and said the Congress was closely monitoring the developments. “The Congress will conduct a thorough examination of these projects and place all facts before the public,” he said. Patwari also alleged that Vallabh Bhavan, the state secretariat, had become a centre of corruption and transfer-related dealings. Criticism of central government The Congress leader also criticised the central government, claiming that several examinations had been cancelled during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the Congress would soon release a white paper detailing alleged instances of corruption. “Every insult becomes a flower”: Patwari Responding to questions about his ongoing war of words with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Patwari said he would not be affected by personal attacks. “He may continue to insult me; every insult becomes a flower for me. We will continue to respond with love, honesty and in the interest of the people,” Patwari said. Focus on organisational strengthening ahead of future political battles The training camp is part of the Congress party’s broader effort to strengthen its organisational structure in Madhya Pradesh, improve coordination among workers and prepare for upcoming political challenges through sustained grassroots engagement.
