CM Mohan Yadav adds EV to convoy:New 500-km range electric SUV debuts with Viksit Bharat-themed registration

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will now travel in an electric vehicle (EV). Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to conserve fuel, the Chief Minister has decided to add an electric vehicle to his official convoy. For this purpose, a new Mahindra XEV 9e has been purchased. The vehicle will become part of the Chief Minister’s convoy from Wednesday. The Chief Minister will use the EV for the first time while travelling from the Chief Minister’s residence to the State Hangar before departing for Delhi on Wednesday evening. ‘VB 2047’ number plate symbolises Viksit Bharat vision The new electric car has been registered with the number MP 02 VB 2047. According to officials, ‘VB’ stands for ‘Viksit Bharat’, while ‘2047’ refers to the national goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, a vision frequently highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The registration number has been chosen to promote the message of environmental conservation and support for the Developed India mission. CM had earlier reduced number of vehicles in convoy Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has previously taken steps to reduce fuel consumption by cutting the number of vehicles in his convoy. The convoy earlier consisted of 13 vehicles, which was later reduced to seven. Following this move, several ministers and government officials also adopted car-pooling and reduced vehicle usage. First electric vehicle in CM’s convoy This will be the first time an electric vehicle has been included in the Chief Minister’s official convoy. Officials described the move as a significant step towards promoting green mobility in government operations. All required security protocols have been completed. Drivers have received specialised training, and security agencies have inspected the vehicle. EV offers more than 500 km driving range The Mahindra XEV 9e purchased for the Chief Minister can travel more than 500 kilometres on a single charge. The vehicle is equipped with modern safety and convenience features, including a 360-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof and fast-charging capability. It is considered one of Mahindra’s most advanced electric vehicles.
