The girl, Anita (name changed), with whom his marriage was fixed, was in a government job. Both were getting to know each other and dreaming of the days to come. Meanwhile, one day he received a call on his mobile from an unknown number. The person on the other end introduced himself as a senior officer. The conversation didn’t last long, but it made Nilesh restless. It was clearly stated on the phone that he should stay away from the girl he was about to marry. At first, he thought someone might be joking. But after some time, calls came again. This time the tone of the conversation was harsher. The pictures raised questions The pictures showed the same young woman with whom his marriage was fixed. In some pictures, her hairline appeared filled with vermilion. Some pictures were such that it seemed as if she was living with someone as husband and wife. Some photos were taken during travel. Some were of them spending time together. Along with the pictures, messages were also sent that further increased Nilesh’s confusion. Now the biggest question before him was, what was the truth? Sometimes she was threatened with termination of her job, throwing acid on her face, and sometimes with implicating her family in false cases. Finally, Anita sought help from the police After being amidst allegations, controversies, and alleged pressure for several months, Anita decided to approach the police. On April 29, 2024, she reached the Barwani Women’s Police Station. She filed an FIR making several serious allegations against Deputy Collector Abhay Singh Kharari, including rape, threats, assault, blackmail, and mental harassment. As soon as the FIR was registered, the matter became a topic of discussion in administrative circles. On one side was a senior administrative officer.
