In Indore, the price has risen to ₹3,222.50, in Jabalpur to ₹3,290, in Gwalior to ₹3,338.50, and in Ujjain to ₹3,250. Cylinder prices have increased by nearly ₹1,300 over the last three months. The latest hike comes after an earlier increase on May 1. Continuous price rises have made food more expensive, with costs in Bhopal alone rising by 10 to 15 percent. With more than 20,000 weddings scheduled in the state by July, the rising costs are expected to further burden consumers. Rates increasing due to price hikes Bhopal Hotel and Restaurant Association president Tejkul Pal Singh Pali said commercial LPG prices have been increasing continuously and are now nearly 60 percent higher than before. This has directly led to an increase in food prices, with a 10 to 15 percent rise after the previous hike, and further increases likely ahead. Madhya Pradesh Tent Caterers Association representative Ram Babu Sharma said the rise in cylinder prices has increased costs in hotels and catering services by around 10 percent. He added that a ₹5 lakh catering order for 500 people now costs ₹45,000 to ₹50,000 more, and the situation may worsen further. Food in restaurants also expensive National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) MP head Abhishek Baheti said commercial LPG prices have been rising every month and have increased four times in the last three months. He said restaurant food prices have also gone up, increasing the financial burden on consumers.
