A group of five men travelling in a car allegedly assaulted a woman bouncer and her husband in Indore after claiming to be army personnel. The incident escalated into a major confrontation when bystanders intervened to help the couple. The accused allegedly attempted to drive through the crowd while fleeing the scene, damaging several vehicles before their car crashed into a road divider. The men then abandoned the vehicle and escaped. Dispute began after alleged dangerous driving According to Vijay Nagar police station in-charge Chandrakant Patel, the woman, identified as Rimjhim Barosa, told police that she was returning home with her husband Shikhar from a fair in Mahalaxmi Nagar on Saturday night. Near Bombay Hospital, a car carrying five young men allegedly cut dangerously in front of their vehicle. When the couple objected, an argument broke out between the two parties. The dispute escalated further when the accused allegedly stopped the couple near the Satya Sai Square intersection and began assaulting them. Bystanders step in to help People nearby noticed the assault and rushed to help the couple. As tensions rose, a scuffle reportedly broke out between the crowd and the group of young men. Witnesses said the situation quickly turned chaotic as more people gathered at the scene. Accused allegedly tried to drive through crowd According to eyewitnesses, the men attempted to flee by speeding away in their car. During the escape, they allegedly tried to drive through the crowd and struck several vehicles, damaging them and shattering windows. The car eventually went out of control and crashed into a road divider. Police seize vehicle after crash Following the crash, authorities used a crane to remove the damaged vehicle from the divider. Police later seized the car and took it to the police station as part of the investigation. The accused, however, managed to flee before officers arrived. Police verifying claim of military connection Station House Officer Chandrakant Patel said an investigation is underway. Police are verifying whether the men were actually serving military personnel, as they had claimed during the incident. Statements from all parties involved are being recorded, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
