Cows were allegedly slaughtered in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district, where severed heads and meat were found packed in plastic bags. Weapons believed to have been used in the slaughter were also recovered. Videos showing the carcasses have surfaced, raising suspicions that the animals were killed for sacrifice during Eid. The incident was reported from Badiyatula village under Mundwara Gram Panchayat. Police have arrested seven people in connection with the alleged cow slaughter, while two accused remain absconding. The arrested men were taken to Moghat Road Police Station. Police also conducted a public parade of the accused, during which they were seen holding their ears and apologising. According to officials, around 11 pm on Friday, severed cow heads and legs packed in polythene bags were being dumped by the roadside. Badiyatula is said to be a Muslim-majority village. Tension gripped the area after bovine remains were discovered. Bike vandalized in front of police Meanwhile, some Hindu youths from a neighbouring village reached the spot. Fearing they would be caught, the accused who had arrived on motorcycles fled the scene. The situation soon became tense, and angry youths allegedly vandalised a motorcycle in the presence of police personnel. After receiving information, CSP Abhinav Barange reached the spot. The situation was brought under control with additional police deployment. Bovine meat and a motorcycle allegedly used by the accused were seized from the scene. See pictures… Sarpanch representative received information, tension increased with arrival of youth Hemant Chauhan, representative of the Sarpanch of neighbouring Sihada village, said he is currently on a pilgrimage to Kedarnath when he received information that cows had allegedly been slaughtered in Badiyatula village on the occasion of Eid and preparations were underway to dispose of the remains. Following the tip-off, some local youths reached the village. They reportedly saw two to three people arriving on a motorcycle carrying cow heads, legs and other remains in polythene bags. On seeing the youths, the accused abandoned the motorcycle and fled. FIR registered at 5 AM on Saturday Police said action was initiated late Friday night after confirmation that the remains belonged to cattle. An FIR was registered at around 5 am on Saturday. Investigators said they have identified those allegedly involved in slaughtering the cows, consuming the meat, disposing of the remains and supplying the polythene bags. 7 out of 9 accused arrested, police took out procession CSP Abhinav Barange said nine people have been named as accused in the cow slaughter case. Seven of them have been arrested so far. The accused were brought to Moghat Road Police Station, where a police parade was conducted. Knives and other sharp weapons were also seized from their possession.
