stock-trader-commits-suicide-amid-debt-pressure:wife-and-son-unaware-of-tragedy,-believed-he-was-in-hospital

A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh, where stock market (MCX) trader Rajesh Agrawal allegedly died by suicide after consuming a poisonous substance due to heavy trading losses and mounting debt. The most tragic aspect of the case is that the deceased’s wife and 15-year-old son remain unaware that the head of their family is no longer alive. While police were carrying out formalities inside the house and taking possession of the body, Rajesh’s wife was calmly making rotis in the kitchen, and his son was sitting on a sofa, unaware of what had happened. Papa will come out when he wakes up The words spoken by Rajesh Agrawal’s wife and son after his death left everyone present deeply emotional. His wife, Varsha, said, “He developed a fever and was sleeping. He has been taken to the hospital and will return soon.” His 15-year-old son Ronak said, “Papa had not opened the door for the last two days. He had not eaten anything, so he must have fallen asleep. He will wake up and come out.” When Rajesh’s sisters reached Chhatarpur after learning about his death, they broke down after seeing the condition of their sister-in-law and nephew. Crying, they said, “Our brother is gone, but these two have the mental understanding of children. He should have taken them with him too. What will happen to them now?” Closed room’s open door revealed body lying below According to Orchha Road Police Station, Rajesh Agrawal had locked himself inside a room for two days. When residents of the colony noticed something suspicious, they informed the police. Officers forced open the door and found Rajesh dead on a mattress laid on the floor. The room’s air-conditioner and lights were still on. A mobile phone, laptop and a container of poison were found beside the body. The laptop was open to the MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange) website, while a notepad contained calculations related to trading activities. After ancestral house, Chhatarpur house also sold, had debt of 70 lakhs Originally a resident of Barua Sagar in Uttar Pradesh, Rajesh Agrawal was the youngest and only brother among four sisters. He moved to Chhatarpur around 12 years ago in search of work. Initially, he sold his ancestral property in Barua Sagar. Later, he purchased a house in Chhatarpur. However, after suffering losses in the stock market and falling into a debt trap, he was forced to sell that property as well for around ₹70 lakh. At the time of his death, he was living in a rented house. Family was confined in the house for years, situation worsened after Corona period According to relatives and neighbours, Rajesh was extremely reserved and spoke very little, even to his sisters and mother. Neighbours said that apart from Rajesh, no other family member was ever seen stepping out of the house. His sister-in-law Vandana said that Varsha was mentally normal at the time of marriage and used to teach tuition classes after completing her graduation. However, after moving to Chhatarpur, and particularly after the Covid period, the family’s condition deteriorated significantly. Ronak’s education had also been discontinued. He was undergoing treatment for a leg-related ailment in Delhi. Over time, the entire family became confined within the four walls of their home. Sisters’ allegation – Gave his life under pressure from big businessmen Rajesh’s sister Ruby Singhal and sister-in-law Vandana alleged that those who pushed him into MCX trading and pressured him over debts were responsible for his death. They claimed Rajesh was being subjected to severe harassment and torture, which ultimately forced him to take the extreme step. The family has appealed to the police and administration to take strict action against those responsible and provide assistance to Rajesh’s elderly mother, wife and son, who have been left helpless after his death.
