A BRICS Agriculture Conference of international importance will be organized from June 9 to 13 on the subject of agriculture in Indore. Agriculture ministers, senior officials, and international delegations from BRICS countries will participate in this conference. Extensive preparations are being made by the district administration, police, and municipal corporation for the event. On Thursday, Collector Shivam Verma, Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, and other senior officials conducted a joint inspection of various program venues, guest accommodation locations, and transit routes related to the conference. The officials inspected arrangements from the airport to hotels and event venues and instructed that guests should not face any inconvenience. They also ensured that the welcome should be in accordance with Malwa’s cultural dignity and traditional hospitality. During the inspection, officials traveled by bus from the airport to the Marriott Hotel and the Sheraton Grand Palace. During this time, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Kshitij Singhal, Indore Development Authority CEO Dr. Parikshit Jhade, Smart City CEO Arth Jain, MPIDC Executive Officer Himanshu Prajapati, Additional Collector Navjeevan Vijay Pawar, and Roshan Rai, along with other officials, were present. Collector Shivam Verma stated that briefing of officers, assignment of responsibilities, and coordination work are being carried out continuously. A detailed inspection of the entire route plan has been conducted from the airport to the meeting venues and guest accommodation locations. A joint team of administration, police, and municipal corporation is engaged in finalizing all arrangements. He said that this event is a matter of pride for both Indore and the country. The administration is working with complete seriousness and commitment so that there is no error of any kind in the event. He expressed confidence that Indore will successfully conduct this international event as it has done in the past. Agriculture-based exhibition will be organized The Collector informed that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Agricultural Year is being celebrated in the state. In this sequence, during the conference, Madhya Pradesh’s agricultural achievements and innovations will be showcased. Agriculture-based exhibitions and stalls will be set up at various locations, including the Haat Bazaar at Dhakkan Wala Kuan, where international guests will be informed about the state’s agricultural development model. During the inspection, officials also conveyed the message of vehicle pooling and fuel conservation on the Chief Minister’s initiative. All officials jointly traveled in buses, which enabled coordinated inspection along with fuel savings. Meeting to be held from 9 to 11 June This conference is being considered a historic opportunity for the agricultural sector of the country and the world, including Madhya Pradesh. In this conference, being organized under India’s presidency under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, important topics such as global food security, climate change, agricultural trade, and farmer welfare will be deliberated upon. As part of the program, the BRICS Agriculture Working Group (AWG) meeting will be held from June 9 to 11, while on June 12 and 13, agriculture ministers of member countries will discuss important issues related to agriculture and food security in Indore. The conference will have serious deliberations on topics such as global food security and nutrition, climate-smart agriculture, simplifying agricultural trade, farmer welfare, supply chain, research, digital agriculture, precision farming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, and agricultural innovation.
