The investigation into the high-profile death case of actress Twisha Sharma in Bhopal is becoming increasingly complex, with fresh revelations emerging during the interrogation of the main accused, Samarth Singh. Police investigations have revealed that after the incident, the accused husband, Samarth, allegedly remained hidden in Jabalpur for nearly 10 days. Katara Hills police station in-charge Sunil Dubey confirmed the development. Samarth is currently under police remand. According to investigators, Samarth kept his mobile phone switched off during his period of absconding to prevent police from tracking his location. However, technical surveillance reportedly traced his last active mobile location to Bhopal, after which police intensified their search operation. Accused admits frequently changing locations During questioning, Samarth allegedly admitted that he continuously changed locations while absconding and avoided direct contact with people. Investigating agencies suspect that he may have received assistance at different levels while hiding. Police are now identifying individuals who were in contact with him on May 12 and 13. Officials are expected to question these individuals soon to determine who provided shelter or logistical support to the accused during his time on the run. Police reconstruct crime scene Police teams have revisited the crime scene as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials have prepared a detailed site map and begun verifying every aspect of the sequence of events. Investigators are trying to determine whether the incident unfolded exactly as initially believed or if any evidence may have been tampered with. According to police sources, certain indications found at the scene do not completely match the existing theory of the case, prompting investigators to examine all possible angles. CBI probe likely; documents may be handed over The possibility of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry in the case is reportedly growing stronger. Documents and evidence collected at the state level may soon be handed over to the central agency. If a CBI probe begins, technical and forensic aspects of the case are expected to be examined in greater depth. Investigators are currently analysing mobile phone data, CCTV footage and call detail records to identify who was active before and after the incident. Twisha’s final chats and movements are also under scrutiny. Car key found in Twisha’s pocket raises questions Police have already seized the clothes Twisha was wearing at the time of her death, the noose allegedly used in the incident, and her mobile phone. Call records, chats and other digital activities from her phone are being examined. During the investigation, police also found a Volkswagen car key in the pocket of Twisha’s shorts. However, according to family members, Twisha did not know how to drive. Investigators are now trying to determine how the car key ended up in her pocket. Viscera samples preserved for further examination The forensic team has preserved viscera samples in the case for further analysis if required. Officials said additional tests may be conducted later to determine whether any intoxicating substance or other chemical element was consumed before death. Earlier, Twisha’s mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, had alleged that the actress was addicted to consuming marijuana. AIIMS Delhi team to return with findings Professor and Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at AIIMS Delhi, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Gupta, said the postmortem report would take time to complete. He stated that certain laboratory examinations, including histopathology and viscera analysis, are still pending. A team of senior doctors from AIIMS Delhi is expected to return with samples, photographs, videos and written observations related to the case. Family demands independent investigation Meanwhile, Twisha Sharma’s family continues to demand an impartial investigation. Her brother, Ashish Sharma, alleged that attempts were made from the beginning to influence the investigation and said the family has no faith in the Madhya Pradesh Police probe. According to him, only a CBI takeover of the case can ensure a fair and unbiased investigation.
