Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat the Mumbai Indians (MI) by four wickets in IPL 2026 at the Eden Gardens on 20 May. With this victory, KKR remained alive in the playoff race. On the other hand, MI suffered its ninth loss of the season. Batting first on a tricky wicket, MI scored 147/8, riding on an unbeaten 32 off 18 balls from Corbin Bosch. In response, KKR chased down the target in 18.5 overs. The match featured several moments, from Deepak Chahar’s ‘no note needed’ celebration to Corbin Bosch’s spectacular catch. Let’s take a look at them one by one. KKR vs MI Match 65 Top Moments 1) Deepak Chahar performs ‘no note needed’ celebration Deepak Chahar added a fresh twist to the ‘note celebration’ trend that been a talking point in this year’s IPL. After dismissing the dangerous Finn Allen in the first over, Chahar acted as if he was pulling out a note from his pocket. The MI bowler took out an imaginary note and held it out before celebrating with his teammates. His version of the ‘notebook’ celebration went viral during the match as it denoted that he did not need any notes to celebrate dismissals. 2) Varun Chakaravarthy fumes over Angkrish Raghuvanshi Varun Chakaravarthy was not very happy with Angkrish Raghuvanshi after he dropped Tilak Varma’s catch. This incident happened in the 11th over of the first innings when Tilak miscued a shot off Varun, and he himself called for the catch. Angkrish, standing behind the stumps, also rushed and attempted the catch, leading to confusion. Although Varun caught it, he ended up dropping it as he landed and was not very happy with the young player. 3) Deepak Chahar and Robin Minz’ brainfade moment Deepak Chahar and Robin Minz had a brainfade moment on the field. This happened during the chase when Rovman Powell got a top edge off a Hardik Pandya delivery. Chahar and Minz both readied themselves for the catch, but bizarrely, neither attempted it, and the ball was right in front of them. It was Chahar’s catch, and he must have reckoned that Minz was going for it too. However, with both fielders converging, the two stopped at the last moment, expecting each other to catch the ball. Expectedly, the ball fell right between them as the two cricketers cluelessly looked at each other. 4) Corbin Bosch’s one-handed stunner to dismiss Rovman Powell With the bat, with the ball and on the field, Corbin Bosch was everywhere for the Mumbai Indians despite their defeat. This happened in the 16th over of the chase, bowled by Allah Ghazanfar, when Powell cut hard. The ball went to point when Bosch flew full stretch to take a one-handed catch and ensure that the ball did not fall as he landed. 5. Wicketkeeper Raghuvanshi left the field due to injury In the 14th over of Mumbai’s innings, wicketkeeper Angkrish Raghuvanshi left the field. Raghuvanshi had injured his finger after colliding with Varun in the 11th over. After staying on the ground for 3 overs, the team physio took him off the field. Tejaswi Dahiya came onto the field as a substitute wicketkeeper in his place. KKR vs MI Match 65 Records 1.
