With two games left in the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League 2026, Mumbai Indians’ star wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock and pace-bowling all-rounder Raj Angad Bawa were on Tuesday ruled out of the remainder of the IPL season due to injuries. It’s worth noting that MI Paltan has been already eliminated from the playoff race. However, they are set to play Kolkata Knight Riders on 20 May and Rajasthan Royals on 24 May to close the season. Quinton de Kock net injury turned out to be tendon tear Quinton de Kock has played three matches this season after beginning his campaign with an unbeaten 112 against Punjab Kings on April 16. The last game that he played was against Chennai Super Kings on April 23 before missing the SRH clash after being hit on the wrist during practice. Now it has turned out that de Kock has a tendon injury in his left wrist due to which he will not play the rest of the two games that Mumbai Indians have left in this season. Although, de Kock’s injury is old, pacer and all-rounder Raj Bawa suffered the injury in previous game against Punjab Kings. Raj Bawa also played three season for MI this season Like de Kock, Raj Bawa also made three appearances for MI this season. However, he suffered a ligament tear in his right thumb during MI’s previous match against Punjab Kings. As per MI’s official announcement regarding the players, “Both Quinton and Raj Bawa will continue their rehab in their respective homes, with support and guidance from the Mumbai Indians medical team to help them return to play as soon as possible. In contrast, Rohit Sharma was even having fun and mocking the KKR coach, Abhishek Nayar in the nets. He imitated the right-arm medium pace action of former cricketer Nayar and even managed to shatter the middle stump in the course. Suddenly, the ‘out’ call from the players left the MI players including Rohit, Bumrah and even Abhishek Nayar bursting out with laughter. Mumbai opener Rohit Sharma was quite elated with the fact that the ball hit the middle stump as he was heard saying, ‘Kya middle stump udaya be! (What a way to send the middle stump flying!)’ Despite being eliminated from IPL 2026, Mumbai Indians will play two games and one of them is not only their last home game but also their last match of the season that they will play against Rajasthan Royals on 24 May.
