In Balaghat, an ambulance overturned after hitting a tree. Then it caught fire. The driver was burnt alive in it. Its video has also surfaced. The accident occurred in Kharra village of Paraswada on Tuesday morning around 5 AM. According to the police, the ambulance driver had come from Nagpur, Maharashtra, to drop a patient at Santritola village in the Paraswada police station area. He became a victim of the accident while returning. Based on the mobile number, the deceased was identified as Michael Antune Morris (56). He lived in the Ajni area of Nagpur. Kamlesh Kushre, a resident of Santritola, said that he had gone to Nagpur for labor work with his brother-in-law, Shiva Pandre. Shiva’s leg broke during construction work on Sunday. After treatment in Nagpur, Kamlesh brought Shiva to Santritola village by ambulance around 2 AM. Driver Michael had slept in Santri Tola itself. He had left for Nagpur via Mandla with the ambulance around 4 AM. During this, the vehicle collided with a tree. Due to the overturning of the vehicle, the driver got trapped inside and died on the spot due to being engulfed in flames. Body sent for post-mortem Passersby saw the crashed ambulance and the burning body on the Balaghat-Mandla road. They informed the Paraswada police. Paraswada Police Station in-charge Madan Ivne said – Preliminary investigation has revealed that the ambulance lost control and hit a tree. The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation into the matter has begun.
