Panic spread in Indore’s Pawanpuri area on Monday morning after several buses suddenly caught fire. The blaze spread so rapidly that multiple buses were engulfed within minutes. Two fire brigade vehicles rushed to the spot and began efforts to control the fire. According to the fire brigade, the incident took place in the Navlakha area near Teen Imli, where buses are parked, and repair work is also carried out. Preliminary information suggests that sparks generated during welding triggered the fire, which soon spread to nearby parked buses. More than 20 buses were parked at the site at the time of the incident. As the flames intensified, nearby buses were immediately moved away to prevent further damage. Local residents said they heard sounds similar to more than four gas cylinder blasts during the fire, creating panic in the area. Since the site is close to a residential settlement, many people rushed out of their homes. Despite this, operations continued, posing the risk of a major accident. Sharma sat on a protest at the spot and said residents had faced problems earlier as well. He stated that he would continue the protest until the buses were removed and a permanent solution was found.
