Amid the ongoing IPL 2026 season, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins has reportedly been offered a massive long-term contract by Cricket Australia. The contract could keep Cummins tied to Australian cricket until 2029, as the board looks to protect one of its biggest stars from the growing financial pull of franchise leagues around the world. Earlier in this season, Cummins was absent due to his injury concerns and recovery rehabilitation. Ishan Kishan led SRH in Cummins’ absence. Currently, Hyderabad are standing right at the top of the points table with 14 points and is in a strong position for the early qualification race in the playoffs. Pat Cummins offered ₹82 crore for a three-year contract till 2029 Pat Cummins is reportedly set to receive a massive three-year contract extension from Cricket Australia that could keep him with Australian cricket until 2029. The new deal is expected to raise his annual earnings to nearly AUD 4 million, approximately ₹22 crore, an increase of around ₹5.5 crore annually from his current contract. According to reports by The Age, the overall value of the agreement could touch AUD 12 million, which is close to ₹82 crore over three years, excluding his IPL salary and brand endorsements. Earlier this year, Cummins and vice-captain Travis Head were reportedly offered nearly AUD 10 million (around ₹55 crore) per year by an IPL franchise to quit international cricket and play full-time in franchise leagues, but the pair turned down the offer, they remain committed to playing for Australia. Meanwhile, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne and Cameron Green are also expected to receive fresh contracts from Cricket Australia. Australia players to complete IPL before Pakistan ODI series Amid the IPL season, Cricket Australia has confirmed that its players will be allowed to finish their IPL commitments before joining the national squad for the ODI series against Pakistan. The CA spokesperson told Cricbuzz that the Australian players “will still be in the IPL and will complete their commitments.” Nearly a dozen Australian cricketers are currently participating in the tournament. The clarification came after CA and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) jointly announced a three-match ODI series on Thursday, May 7. The matches are scheduled for May 30, June 2, and June 4, while Australian players are expected to arrive in Islamabad on May 23. This schedule overlaps with the final phase of the IPL, which is set to conclude on May 31. Australia ‘A’ tour of India announced ahead of BGT 2026-27 The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for Australia ‘A’ team’s tour of India ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy next year. According to the schedule released on Wednesday, the Australia ‘A’ side will play two four-day matches and three 50-over games against India during September and October. All the matches of the tour will be held in Puducherry. Apart from the men’s ‘A’ series, Australia’s women’s ‘A’ team and the men’s Under-19 squad are also set to tour India for separate bilateral series, making it a busy and exciting season of international development cricket between the two countries.
