The Madhya Pradesh government has finally issued appointment orders for 4,000 secondary and primary teachers after a long wait. Selected candidates will have to choose their schools online between 12 May and 18 May 2026. The Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) has released the official notice. This decision has come at a time when selected candidates had been protesting for a long time, demanding their appointments. On Wednesday, candidates staged a protest outside the DPI office in Bhopal, asking for the process to begin soon. Following this, the government took the step. Recruitment process started in 2022, result declared in 2025 According to the candidates, the recruitment process began in 2022. The eligibility exam was held in 2023, followed by the selection exam in April 2025. After a long process, the result was declared in September 2025, and the selection list was released. Despite a list of around 10,700 candidates being released, the appointment process had remained stalled for the past nine months, increasing anger among candidates. Online portal to be used for school choice According to the Directorate of Public Instruction, selected candidates for secondary teacher (various subjects) and primary teacher (sports, music, singing, instrumental, dance) posts will have to choose schools through an online portal. Candidates must fill all schools under their allotted division or district in order of preference. The department has made it clear that the choice-filling process will be considered complete only after the portal fee is paid. Delay in choice filling may lead to less preferred schools The department has warned that if a candidate fails to fill school choices within the given time, they will be allotted a school based only on the remaining vacancies. In such cases, the chances of getting a preferred school will be lower. It has also been stated that no claims related to choice filling will be accepted later, so completing the process on time is essential. Final appointment after document verification Candidates whose names are included in the provisional selection list are undergoing document verification by the concerned authorities. Their eligibility or ineligibility will be decided only after this verification. The final appointment process will be completed on this basis. Candidates advised to check portal regularly The department has advised candidates to regularly check the authorised MP Online portal. All important updates and instructions will be issued through this platform. It has been clearly stated that candidates should rely only on the official website for any new information. Separate update for other posts For special posts such as primary teacher (singing, instrumental, dance), the list of eligible candidates will be released separately. The process for these posts will begin only after that. It is expected that school allocation and final appointment orders will be issued soon after the choice-filling process is completed.
