Now, students will be able to apply through the MP Online portal till May 4, 2026. Earlier, this date was fixed as April 26. From this year, the board has abolished the supplementary examination system and implemented the ‘Second Examination’, in which both failed and passed students will be able to participate. Secretary of the Board of Secondary Education Buddhesh Kumar Vaidya has said in the issued order that keeping in mind the convenience of students, the last date for application has been extended from April 26 to May 4, 2026. Online applications can be made through the MP Online portal. The board has clarified that all other rules and instructions will remain applicable as before. Traditional supplementary examination system abolished This year, the board has made a major change by abolishing the traditional supplementary examination system. Previously, only students who failed in limited subjects could take the supplementary exam, but now, under the ‘Second Examination’, all students will get equal opportunity. This change has been made with the aim of bringing flexibility to the education system and reducing pressure on students. Passed students along with failed ones, can also take the exam According to the new system, students who have failed in any subject will be required to take the exam for that subject. At the same time, students who have already passed can also voluntarily take the exam in any subject to improve their marks. This will give students an opportunity to achieve better marks for their career. According to the schedule released by the board, the Second Examination for Higher Secondary (12th) will be conducted from May 7 to May 25, 2026. The High School (10th) examination will be held between May 7 to May 19, 2026. All examinations will be conducted at designated examination centers. Better marks will be the final valid ones The marksheet issued after the second examination will be similar to the main examination. The board has clarified that whichever result is better between the student’s main examination and second examination, that will be considered final. This will give students a direct benefit to improve their performance. How to Apply? To appear in the second examination, students will have to apply within 7 days after the declaration of the main examination results. The application process will be completed through the MP Online Kiosk, where the form can be filled out after depositing the prescribed fee.
